About This Project

PFI worked closely with Doncaster Royals Architect David Rothwell and Sister Joyce Burman to create a unique “timeless” Hospital Interior that sets new standards within the NHS that many now wish to emulate.

Seating comfort combined with special infection control requirements were all taken into consideration by the team. The demands of a modern Chemotherapy unit require very close attention to detail both in fabric selection as well as the cleaning of furniture and work surfaces.

Within the Ward area’s patients have to sit for long periods so our “Ergo” recliner high back arm chairs with variable seat depth provided the required comfort and helps to reduce patient stress.

For over 15 years, PFI have supplied furniture to various Wards and reception areas within the Doncaster Royal and Mexborough Hospitals. Starting in 1990 with the A&E where the original “Focus” seating is still providing quality comfort after all these years.
